Shared Pathway Counselling
If anxiety, trauma, stress, depression, or a sense of disconnection has been part of your experience, counselling can offer a space to slow down and reconnect. You may be navigating a life transition, feeling overwhelmed, or noticing patterns that no longer
serve you. Perhaps you are carrying experiences that feel heavy or confusing. Whatever has brought you here, you do not have to face it alone.
Counselling provides a supportive environment where we can gently explore what is happening for you — bringing greater understanding to your thoughts, emotions, and experiences. Some people come to counselling seeking relief from distress. Others are looking for deeper self-understanding, personal growth, or a stronger sense of connection with themselves and their lives.
Our work together can help you make sense of your experiences, develop new ways of coping, and move toward a life that feels more aligned with who you are.
About me
My name is Sarah,
an integrative counsellor and member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) I offer
a calm, supportive space where you can explore your experiences safely and at your own pace.
Through Shared Pathway Counselling, I offer in-person sessions in my comfortable therapy space in Metheringham, online counselling, and walk-and-talk therapy in nature.
My work is grounded in psychological understanding and informed by Transactional Analysis, while also making space for reflection on meaning, connection, and spirituality where this feels important to you.
I studied both Psychology and Counselling at university, and my approach is shaped by an understanding of trauma and neuroplasticity — the knowledge that our brains and nervous systems can change throughout life. My area of independent study for my degree was counselling in the outdoors, I feel this connection to nature can help enormously with the stresses of modern living.
I understand that trauma responses often develop as intelligent adaptations to overwhelming experiences. With the right support, these patterns can begin to shift, allowing new ways of responding to life to emerge. I often work somatically addressing how the trauma response is held in the body using grounding techniques, guided imagery and relaxation; these healthy coping strategies can help to manage stress and anxiety responses.
I have experience supporting people living with complex trauma and PTSD resulting from abuse and childhood abuses as well as neurodivergent clients, and I recognise that each person’s story and way of processing the world is unique.

Therapeutic Approach
I work in an integrative and humanistic way. This means I value your individual experience and
believe there are many possible paths toward growth and change. Our work is collaborative and
shaped together around what feels most helpful for you.
My approach is trauma-informed and grounded in an awareness of the connection between mind
and body. Where appropriate, and always with your consent, I may invite gentle somatic awareness,
grounding practices, or relaxation techniques to support nervous system regulation.
I also integrate elements of Transactional Analysis and the Rewind Technique to support trauma
processing in a contained and respectful way. The aim is not to relive difficult experiences, but to
help the nervous system update old survival responses so they no longer dominate the present.
Sessions are available in person, online, or through walk-and-talk therapy in nature. Some people
find that movement and being outdoors supports reflection and grounding, while others prefer the
privacy and consistency of an indoor space.
I also welcome conversations about meaning, values, and spirituality in and client-
led way — whether this relates to a sense of purpose, connection to nature, or deeper self-
exploration.

Getting Started
Taking the first step towards counselling can feel daunting, and it’s important that you feel
comfortable with the person you choose to work with.
I offer a free 30 minute initial conversation where we can briefly talk about what has brought you to
counselling and what you might be looking for. This is also an opportunity for you to ask questions
and to get a sense of whether working together feels right for you.
If we decide to continue, we can arrange regular sessions in person in, online, or through walk-and-
talk sessions in nature.
There is no pressure to commit — the first conversation is simply a chance to see if counselling
with me feels like the right fit.
